just typing a dash works for me. Or are you looking for other special
characters?
The contents of a variable should be unicode. Best approach for special
characters (in any language) would be to type the text in a Unicode text
editor, then copy and past it into the variable

I'm interested to use the RoboHelp pubs engine that's now in Maker to generate
HTML5 and maybe other outputs. I'm going from DITA. Problem is, for every
topic I get two nesting entries in the TOC. So to see a topic you have to
click to open the "container", then click again to open
On FM 15, I'm working with a product name that I want in a variable that
contains dashes/hyphens (like Jack-In-The-Box).
The Frame text key sequence of Esc - h doesn't work, and the ASCII sequence
of Alt 2011 doesn't work.
Any ideas?

This is for FM 9, but it seems to work in FM 2015 as well.
