I have used UltraEdit for years now and strongly endorse it. It not
only handles humongous files and has many useful text manipulation
features, but it also has a hex mode so that you can edit any
arbitrary file's binary values.

than Notepad installed currently, as I don't use text editors a lot.
I used ConTEXT when I had to edit the MIF files. But since we can't
install that on our work PCs anymore, I've been using Portable
Notepad++ lately.
