Thanks a lot for the proposals. I tried the solution with creating mini books
for the individual sections but as this would require to manually specify the
correct starting page number each time I found this solution not to be a
comfortable one.
But now I have an idea how experts do it and
as I find it hard to search the archive, can anyone give an idea of how to
make section TOCs?... I use Frame 7.2.
Systec makes a plugin (Chapter TOC) for this. I've never used it, so can't
comment on it. Following is a link where you can find it, but I believe
there is also a trial version
Bt. Wrong answer.
In the parent book, the page numbering doesn't matter -- whatever
setup you have is fine, so long as it works -- it will set the page
number (and para number) counters accurately.
In the small sub-book for the section, in the book file, set the page
and chapter numbering

Hi list,
as I find it hard to search the archive, can anyone give an idea of how to make
section TOCs?
I use Frame 7.2. I have a book that consists of several parts, each part has a
number of chapters in it. I would like to have an overall TOC at the beginning,
with lets say two levels

However, as the originator wants to have an overall TOC as well as section
TOCs, surely the parent book would have to be updated to make the overall
TOC correct?
I am in a similar situation, but trying to fix a document made by another.
In my case the section TOCs are created and inserted
