Version Conflict

2011-05-27 Thread Mythri Sathyan
Hello All,

I have a template that is created in FM Version 7 and I am currently using FM
Version 10. The book building is failing due to version conflict.

Can I import tags from the existing FM Version 7 template to the FM Version 10
new template? OR Should re-create the whole template?

Please reply!

Regards,
Mythri

Niether.

Minimally, you need to open the template (or template book, if it's a
set of templates) and save as a FM10 file, and then
resave the book file as well.

What I'd recommend though is to perform a second step -- save each new
FM10 template file as a MIF file so remove any junk characters or settings that
have been inherited. Then SaveAs each MIF as an FM file to create your
working template files.

Then import the formats from our FM 10 template(s) into your working
FM 10 files.

I'm assuming that you have already created a backup directory of your
FM 7 files...

FM10 now has a BookWashMIF function/script - look on the Adobe forum for a fix
to the out-of-the-box script that comes with FM10.
