Another option is to save the webpage to your computer, open it with
Word, save it as a DOC or DOCX file, then open the DOC/DOCX file with Frame.

No .pdf were open of course.

Two things to check/try:

n It may be the case that everything works fine in the PDF despite the
warning shown in the console.

n Sometimes, the PDF generated is indicated as being open (even though it
is not open in Acrobat/Reader). It may be open because it is currently
displayed in the preview pane of Windows file explorer. If you close
Acrobat/Reader, as well the preview pane in the file explorer and FM still
thinks the PDF is open (I came across such situations, involving 3D files),
simply save the PDF under a new name and rename it later.

how do people copy-protect their PDFs?

2013-05-05 Thread Carol J. Elkins
Does anyone use Adobe LiveCycle as a digital rights management (DRM)
solution for selling/distributing their documents? If so, I'd
appreciate your emailing me off-list so that I can ask a couple of questions.

Thanks in advance,

Carol

An API exists. Why don't they use it? They failed me before.

 Robert,
I have had to do this in the past. I found a freeware app that will strip
the HTML tags leaving raw ascii text. I then brought the text in and
applied the appropriate tags to it. It is a two-step process, but it worked.
www.freeware.com has an app, html2text that can strip the tags. Of
course, there are probably others available. Framescript might be able to
do it too.
