HI all,
Is there an FM utility for sorting (ordering) sections according to
alphabetical order?
e.g., if I specify to sort within Section 3.1, then:
Section 3.1.1 Function_ABC
Section 3.1.2 Function_XYZ
Section 3.1.3 Function_LMN
will be sorted to:
Section 3.1.1 Function_ABC
Section 3.1.2
Hi Framers:
I have FrameMaker 8.0p277
I love the ability of FM to generate dictionary style running heads,
but these only seem to work with index entries which also have discrete
subtopics i.e. the main index subject line is on its own in the generated
index file, followed by the indented

Actually that is interesting. While it has not happened on my machine I have
experienced that with others who are using both 7.1, 7.2 and 8. When the bar
is unlocked from the menu they rotate correctly. That is, as a floating
palette.

You are right.
Ok, did it.
I see now that that also immediately correctly the jumping problem.
Not exactly sure yet why it fixed it, but
Btw, I inherited these documents; I was not the original author. My
assumption was that the original author knew FM and what I see is a proper
mode of working...
Well, now I understand that just as that is not true for a Word document, it
is equally not true for an FM document.

Is there any more to the error message? Do either of the programs
crash, or no PDF comes out?
Are you sure that both programs are patched up to date?
Are you using SaveAs or Print To (preferred)? Does it fail at the same
place (page)
