First off, thanks to all those who helped me with my document containing
both 81/2x11 and 11x17 pages. As suggested, I pulled out the 11x17
pages into a new document that will be another chapter in the book.
Now I'm seeing a problem in autonumbering that is defying all my newbie
efforts to
Check that the styles with numbering formats that fall between those
tables are replicating the proper stream. Someone is either off a
placeholder, or resetting your numbers.

I have started testing FM 9 p230. Over all, I like the new UI design.
However, I have noticed one issue right off the bat. When I
rearrange/minimize windows, drag tabs and pods around, or change work

Scott's idea is something I didn't notice when you published your
numbering strings.
Insert a letter in front of the string to specify a unique numbering
stream -- you can have 50+ of them, but it's best to make each type
unique. Specifying a specific stream ensures that other tags won't
reset
I just wrapped up the trial and did not encounter anything like this either.

highest resolution is 1680 by 1050 pixels, the lap top's highest resolution

Apparently, I spoke too soon. The GUI distortions started occurring at the
lower res on my monitor right after I sent out an email saying they didn't.
So I am not sure what is going on. However, it is still the case that FM 9's
GUI renders without any problem on my lap top's monitor.
Are you using the DVI connector or the VGA connector on the laptop (to
connect to the external monitor - which I assume is an LCD monitor)? If
not DVI, can you try that and see if the problem persists?
Also, have you tried switching from dual-screen mode (where the output
is on both screens) to

had no affect. Also, I've noticed that the GUI distortions only occur when I
maximize the FM window and/or change the workspace while the FM window is
maximized. If the FM window isn't fully maximized, then the GUI

Quadro 120 graphics card and an external Dell 24 LCD (at 1920 x 1200)
and do not remember seeing these screen artifacts when I trialed FM 9.

My laptop has 2 GB of memory. I have had previous issues with this lap top
being buggy, though nothing like this. I suppose it could all be related,
but who knows? I am just glad that it isn't a defect with the product
because the more I use the UI the more I love it.
