You can produce a basic list of insets by adding a List of References
and adding Text Insets to it. This gives you a basic list giving:

Inset filename . . . . . . .Container filename . . . . . . . . . . page
number.

Not everything you want, but better than zilch.

Hi Joseph,

TOOLBOX (a collection of plug-ins) can help you:

Book Transfer:
If you start Book Transfer, it will create a list of all referenced
insets and graphics
with all information. In the next step you could transfer (copy) all
referenced insets and graphics with chapters in a book to another place.

Server Analysis:
This plug-in could find duplicate files and many more in a matrix of all
referenced information.

Test TOOLBOX for 30 days, it's free: www.toolboxforme.com

Subject: Plugin for tracking text insets

Hi all,

I have a master book that contains all the other books in my doc set I
am
looking for a plugin to generate the following info:

1. identify all the text insets in every book. Generate a count of all
the
insets.
2. create a list of insets, for each inset identify which book and FM
file
the inset is in. Also provide the file path to the inset.
3. ability to screen out insets i don't want to see
4. ability to screen out duplicates. ie if inset1 pops up in the book
the
multiple times, i might only want to see it first the time.
5. ability to do 1-4 with conditional build expressions (minus providing
the
file path.)
6. ability to do this with graphics.

Is there a plugin out there that does this? I am not interested in
framescript though. I just want to take a file, drop it into my plugin
folder, and start using it. Basically, I am looking for some robust
reporting capabilities that gives me an idea about what state my
documentation is in.

Thanks,
Joseph Lorenzini

Hi Avraham,

do you know the plugin-ins coming with TOOLBOX (www.toolboxforme.com)?
See the features with Formats these are free and they will bring you a
very big benefit.
TOOLBOX is very easy to install and you can use more features everytime,
such as...

...Formats:
Add, Delete unused, ... paragraph, character, table and xref formats
Add, Delete, ... color an variables in a document or book.

... Rename Format Names by Configuration:
Optimize your formats with less defined formats. Make a list
and start the renaming by configuration.

...Format List:
List all used and defined formats in the document or book.

Test it - you will be happy.

Your question:
Subject: To remove local formatting from a paragraph

Hi all,

In FM 7.2 how do you remove local character and paragraph formatting
from
a paragraph to return it to the formatting of its current paragraph
style
(tag). The formatting of its current paragraph style is as currently
defined
in the Paragraph Catalog (and which appears in the Paragraph Designer
when
you place the cursor on the paragraph.

In MS Word, which I know better than FM, you would do this with a
ResetPara
command, whose shortcut is Ctrl+Q.

TIA

(FM 9) layout for die-cut side tabs with text?

2010-10-04 Thread Edmondson, Becky
We want to create a doc with manila-folder-style tabs on the chapter headers.
The tabs are to be a solid color and have some text on them.

I know how to create bleeding tabs and how to size and position the graphics
box to allow for the die-cut trim. My problem is figuring how to get the text
placed on the part of the tab that projects outside of the FM page edge. I put
the text in a table, inside of a textbox, inside of the graphics box, and then
rotated the table. So far so good. But Frame resists every effort to move it
outside of the page. Partially moving the text box off the page, so that the
bottom of the box is visible on the page, doesn't work.

I am truly stumped. Can't find anything on the web about this. Anyone know how
to do this?
