don't forget to update the FM book after applying your conditional settings.
You should always set the pagination properties from within the book file (as
recommended procedure) and not from within individual files. Be sure to agree

In your maker.ini file, you can set FM to display onscreen using print
settings. If you do that and have Adobe PDF as your default printer, it might
make FM have the same pagination onscreen as in the PDF.

Thanks to some super-sleuthing by Rick Quatro the causes have been found.
One document had a stray, empty text box that was preventing the deletion of
the
extra pages.
The other included an inset with a table. In FrameMaker 11 it splits across 2

Note that the message you get when you change to a different printer is not
about changing *fonts. It is a warning that the font *metrics* have changed.
Font metrics are the very precise dimensions of each glyph you use in a given

I set Adobe PDF as my default system printer, as I generate PDFs far
more often than I print to dead trees. Try that, maybe?
Also, be sure to uncheck "Remember missing font names" in the FM
Preferences, and you should be able to "strip" all legacy font info from
your files as you open them and
