It's the little things that make you crazy

2015-01-29 Thread Christenson, Pat
Here's mine.

FrameMaker 10, Windows

In tabbed display, when I point at the X to close the document, FrameMaker
frequently displays the document pathname and then becomes unresponsive for
several seconds. This is really annoying. Is there some way to turn off this
feature (displaying pathname when pointing at a tab)?

Thanks in advance.

2015-01-29 Thread Craig Ede
That's why I love this list. I haven't thought about the setting in
EditPreferencesInterface settings for quite a while.
As well as Tooltips Appearance Hidden you might want to give the Fast setting
a try.

Thanks.

Tested with FM 10.0.3.419:
In maker.ini (the one in %appdata%\Adobe\FrameMaker\10) set
   ToolTipMode = hidden

This will avoid the hover-function. However, it may also avoid it for the
ordinary
tool bar buttons.

Structured FrameMaker and Selecting Nested Elements in Context

2015-01-29 Thread quills
In FM 11 there was a keystroke mouse combination that allowed one to
select text or an element, and a drop-down menu would appear with the
context relevant elements for application. This menu would also allow
one to select a series of elements that would nest in the correct context.

This seems to have disappeared in FM 12.

My question is does this still exist? Or was this time-saving bon mot
discarded?
