Disconnected pages are supposed to work like that, IIRC, Ken. To add pages as text frames are filled, FM needs to know that the text frames are in connected flows. With Display Text Symbols ON, you should see a black line at the bottom of overset text frames, unless the bottom of the frame extends

Peter (and Ken), Thanks for the thoughts. I was pointed to the method for adding disconnected pages and then using a process to re-connect text flows and that seems to work. I cannot find any reason why some chapters just randomly stopped adding pages (at random lengths) but this approach does

It's possible that the non-flowing text frames are not connected to the main text flow. It might be possible that they became disconnected by a bug during some processing operation, or that they were either manually disconnected, or were manually created as separate flows. In the old days,
