Re: [Framers] FrameScript to purge catalogs?
If you want a clean template you have to purge all these of any defaults that are set for (at least) these eight container types: Page Layouts (Body, Master and Reference) , Paragraph Formats , Character Formats , Table Formats , Object Styles , Color Definitions , User Variable Definitions , Cross-ref Formats Ah, I was just about there, but had missed the Object Styles. (Well, I don't have any, but I didn't even remember to look.) An oddity I found that might help someone else: to get to the custom "Running H/F " variables, you have to be viewing the master pages. I also found (by saving as MIF and opening the MIF in a text editor) that there were entities for the PDF Job Options and for several elements (a LOR, a lingering alphabetical list of the paragraphs that I'd deleted via FrameMaker's GUI, a TOC). So I deleted them from the MIF and, in FrameMaker, saved the MIF as the "template_empty" FM file to use as the basis for "focused templates", such as for conditions and doc titles. Thanks for confirming the list of objects to "clean", -Monique ___ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com

[Framers] "clean" .FM file ?
I can give you a clean .fm file with none of the factory garbage if you like. I'm winding down on my spate of template work, and am ready to create focused "doc_title_vars" and "condition" template files so that doc titles and conditions can be more easily managed on a per-product basis even though they'll share the same templates for paragraph/char/xref/color/master page/reference page/etc. styles. So it seems that a "clean .fm" file would definitely be the correct way to start. But... how does one create such a thing? It definitely seems a good work flow to start with a "clean .fm" file and then add just the variables for doc titles, or the conditions, or whatever. And then this focused template could be imported into any doc without risk of overwriting/adding styles that aren't specifically for this template's focus (doc titles, conditions, whatever). Hah! Changing MathSize MathMedium to MathSize MathSmall in the MIF file worked! [Framers] Equations: convert between sizes?
I've been given a short Frame document with about 6 equations in the medium equation formatting. Is there an easy way to change them to the small equation formatting, or am I stuck recreating them? I think I'll investigate the MIF and see what's to be seen. -- Lin Sims ___ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
