Re: [Framers] How to get xml to use structured application

2017-01-17 Thread Heiko Haida
Hi Rick,

the path info for the DTD, template, r/w rules etc. is specified in the
structured application.

But I know, somestimes this does not "catch" it.

The question is, how the "SYSTEM" information is processed.
I did not find anything about this in the XML literature (it always
says, the DTD is "known" then, whatever that means on the technical
level).

There are 2 other ways to fix this:

a) You specify the exact path and name of the DTD replacing the SYSTEM
entry.

b) And, well, of course it may be possible to add the DTD to all XML
files as internal DTD. But thats rather a theoretical approach.

Re: [Framers] How to get xml to use structured application

2017-01-17 Thread Rick Quatro
I pretty much have this figured out I think, but I am still stuck on one
item. I am using this in my xml file:

And my structured app specifies one of the DOCTYPEs as toc-stn. When I open
the xml file, it is now using the correct structured application.

However, the xml file has to be in the same folder as ixxus.dtd. Is there a
way to avoid this requirement? Thank you very much.

Re: [Framers] PDF-Mark problems in Framemaker 2015

2017-01-17 Thread Rick Quatro
Hi André,

The solution to the problem is to turn off hyphenation in the Postscript text
frames. Apparently, hyphenation is not ignored in FrameMaker versions higher
than 12. You can see that the error log reports "pdf-mark" as the offending
command (notice the automatic hyphen). I am reporting this as a bug to Adobe.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Re: [Framers] PDF-Mark problems in Framemaker 2015

2017-01-17 Thread Reng, Dr. Winfried
Hi,

Generally pdfmark commands are supported.
I use them in FM 2015 to create a comment with print instructions
on the title page. No problems.
Probably your specific text is not correct.

Best regards

Winfried

Subject: [Framers] PDF-Mark problems in Framemaker 2015

Hi, there,
some years ago I created some PDF-Mark buttons with the postscript
frames in Framemaker, which enabled the navigation in a pdf document
("previous page", "next page" or "jump to TOC"). Up to Framemaker 12 it
was without any problems possible to create a online pdf.
But now in Framemaker 2015 this no longer works: the pdf distilling
stops with the following message:

"%%[ ProductName: Acrobat Distiller 10.1.16 ]%%
%%[Page: 1]%%
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: pdfmark ]%%

Stack:
/ANN
(/HeBo 10 Tf 1 g)
/DA
-dict-
/MK
-dict-
/BS
/Link
/Subtype
-dict-
/Action
65540
/Ff
/Btn
/FT
/Widget
/Subtype
(zum Ausgangsort zur¸ck springen)
/TU
(zur¸ck springen)
/T
[71 14 0 0]
/Rect
-mark-

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%"

It seems that the Acrobat DC PlugIn no longer understands the PDF mark
commands. Has anybody a solution to this anoying surprise?
I work with Framemaker 12 and 2015 in a Virtual Machine with Windows 7
Professional on a Mac, my client is on Windows 10 on a PC.

Thanks in advance,
André
