Colleagues,

When defining new structured applications in the user-specific copy of
structapps.fm ... is there an equivalent to the $STRUCTDIR variable? Or
is there some other notation I can use in structapps.fm to resolve
user-specific application file pathnames correctly?

I'm referring to the structapps.fm and structured application
definitions that typically live in
"C:\User\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\\structure".
I would like to distribute new structured application definitions in
this folder and have them "just work."

Thanks in advance!

Re: [Framers] $STRUCTDIR equivalent for user-specific structapps folder?

2018-10-18 Thread Scott Prentice

Hi Alan...

Sadly, no .. not that I'm aware of. I've been requesting this for a
while now, would be really nice to have a $USERDIR (or some such
variable). Instead, I use a hard-coded path to "c:\fmapps" .. then have
people install custom apps to that location.

Would be really happy if someone were to point out that I'm wrong!  :-)

Cheers,
...scott

Re: [Framers] Structured XML 'title' element (cuc tu)

2018-10-18 Thread cuc tu
Hi All,

Had a nice chat with Rick the other day and he helped me understand quite a bit
more about the structure and some navigation...

We identified that the read-write rules are involved as removing that from the
structured application definition stops the problem I was seeing. We were not
sure exactly why it was happening though since the RW file does not declare
anything about a 'title' element.

I think I have enough to do what I need to do at the moment.

Thanks all, and especially Rick!

[Framers] Error : Attribute has already been declared for element

2018-10-18 Thread cuc tu
Hi All Framers,

I have a government supplied DTD that I suspect has some errors, but I have
limited familiarity with structured authoring.

Here is one of the errors and what I've done to try to understand it:

XML Parser Messages (Document Prolog)
Error at file \production.dtd, line 4038, char 16, Message: Attribute
'applicable' has already been declared for element 'test'

Below I try to find all the related elements and attribute definitions in the
DTD. I've indicated where I think the problem is in red font. It looks to me
that the "applicable" attribute is declared right in the element and it
is also declared through the additional attribute chain: taskatt > applidatt,
where applidatt also declares the "applicable" attribute.

Is this truly an error in the DTD that should be corrected or is it typical and
should it be ignored?

Thanks All,

C2

My first bug for FM2019. For me, at least, when I import user variables from
one file to another, the definition displayed in the Variables pod does not
update.

Note that the definition DOES actually get updated. It's just the the
definition shown in the Variables pod doesn't change unless I save, close,
and reopen the file.

I've filed a bug, but I was wondering if anyone else here has seen this?

[Framers] Old Title Info being dragged into the HTML 5 files

2018-10-18 Thread Caroline Tabach
Hi

I think that maybe this problem is slightly connected to the title info
mentioned by Lin.

I made new user guides based on an old template from an old book.

In the Responsive HTML files that I made, the topic names of the Heading 1
is the name of something old that should not appear. This was fixable by
making sure the TOC file appeared in the book file used to create the Help.
BUT, the name of this old user guide appears as the file name for each
Heading 1 HTML topic

i.e. I get a whole lot of HTML files. In each folder one file (the H1 file)
has the name of something old that should not be there.

I opened all of the files by hand and made sure this does not appear in the
document info field.

I saved some of the files as MIF files and searched for this term, but did
not find it.

Does anyone have any idea where this problematic info could have come from
and how to get rid of it?

thanks
