How to get tables to span pages
Hi all, I'm using Frame 7.2. I have a table that is the size of one page, but the text above it only takes a quarter of a page. The table positions itself at the top of the next page. I'm looking for a way to make it flow from one page to the next so that it stays close to the text directly above it. Hope you can help. RE: How to get tables to span pages
Hi, Carl! First, check your Table Designer (CTRL + T). On the Basic tab, check that the Start is set for anywhere. Then, click in the row you want to be the top of your next page (if there is a specific row you want to break the table at) and go to Table/Row Format. In the Start Row drop-down, choose Top of Page. That should fix it. If you have a header row, and it is marked as such, it will repeat at the top of the page. Hope that helps! Re: How to get tables to span pages
I'm thinking that the table has fairly long copy blocks in the first row or two, which means that the cells don't have good break points... so the solution is to break the first rows manually into multiple rows to create natural break points for the first row. Add several rows and manually break the text from your current first or first couple rows into multiple rows. Then apply custom ruling (eliminate internal row rulings) to make the new cells blend and appear to be a single cell. Also, check the row break points, but making shorter rows should do it..
