Yes, but it's likely two factors.
First, if you're working in a book and the component files have imported by
ref graphics, you're talking hundreds of files coming from the net to your
box.
Second, unless your company is atypical, each one of those files is
virus-checked both ways, as it comes
Working with FrameMaker files on a network drive is asking for trouble.
To share files within a group, use Subversion or whatever source
control system you have already.

I had my files on the network; any time I updated the book Frame would go
black momentarily and "unresponsive" would display in the title bar.
Putting my files on C: fixed this.

In the past I always worked locally.
FrameMaker seems a bit slow to me.
Is this owing to working from the network?
