This is on behalf of a fellow Oz framer who has been trying to post for the
last couple of days with no joy.
He switched to using PNGs for the many screenshots in his very large manuals
-- but the file sizes have blown out exponentially, presumably because of the
now millions of extra colours

Thanks Shlomo -- you are right on the money (as usual).
The saving as MIF is something that would never have occurred to me,
despite using that method for many other Frame ills over the last 14
years with Frame.

PNG files add colors to the FM file only if they use less than 16
million colors. You won't see this problem if you make sure your PNGs
use a 16 million color depth.
You can fix any FM document that suffers from this by either of the
following methods:
1) Save the FM as MIF, then open the MIF
