I find this extremely believable. Well, I don't know - the only explanation is that the material was pasted from Word, Pasted? Whoah... That means that you won't give FrameMaker the chance even to exercise a Word import filter. Import filters contain loadsa' code designed to weed out Wordities. and there must have been a massive amount of garbage screwing up the document. Undoubtedly. My solution was to recreate the info on the first page, apply the first page master page, then delete the corrupt first page. So far, holding my breath, but it seems to have worked. My first try would have been to *import* the Word content into a new FrameMaker document, clean that up as required and cut and paste from there. But I'm glad you've fixed the problem. -- Steve ___ You are currently subscribed to Framers as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send list messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or visit http://lists.frameusers.com/mailman/options/framers/archive%40mail-archive.com Send administrative questions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit http://www.frameusers.com/ for more resources and info.
RE: Figure number updating
Well, the text was imported from Word. That explains EVERYTHING. lol :D Should have thought about disconnected text frames myself. While autoconnect was selected, it doesn't mean the current frame and next similarly tagged frame are connected. Autoconnect will only cause FrameMaker to create a new page should content in the current text frame overflow. Next time, you can connect two frames by selecting each frame in turn and choosing FileCustomize LayoutConnect Text Frames. Eric L. Patricia, In the Numbering properties of the captions, check whether you have two different series labels: For example, S:chapnum-n+\t and F:chapnum-n+\t Or perhaps you have n written for the problem paragraph. Perhaps it was imported from Word or something. HTH, David David Schor Technical Communication Manager Emblaze-VCON Ltd. How is this possible? I'm using the same template that I always use and the figure numbers have always updated automatically. Now I find that in every chapter in this guide, there are two Figure x-1s.
