I find when I get the "not a valid FM file" message, I can just hit OK & it still scans it & pulls it in. It doesn't seem to need to be open in FM at the same time as trying to import it (tried that already). Do you get the OK button?
The import error message may have something to do with resources (I try to close down as much stuff as I can when using RH - it seems to be a real memory pig) or it may have something to do with the source FM file. I make sure that any books are updated & there are no issues over in FM before trying to pull anything into RH. What happens if you save the FM file as MIF and suck that into RH? I've never tried it, but I wonder if it would work. Just my 2 cents worth ;>) -----Original Message----- From: framers-boun...@lists.frameusers.com [mailto:framers-boun...@lists.frameusers.com] On Behalf Of Spectrum Writing Sent: Thursday, February 04, 2010 3:44 PM To: framers@lists.frameusers.com; Free Framers; tcs-us...@googlegroups.com Subject: Standalone FM 9 (all patched) and RH 8.02 - (xposted to three lists) All, I do NOT have TCS2, but I am posting to several lists in hopes of findng an answer. I have standalone FM 9 (all patched) and standalone RH 8.0.2 installed on a 64 bit Win7 system. Whenever I open RH and request to import a FM file, I get one of the following two messages: 1.) Import error - failed to complete import. the import function grinds and grinds and then times out with this error message. 2.) the "x".fm is NOT a FM file. Make sure that it is open and is a FM file. Uh, yea, it is and it is open, otherwise, I wouldn't be trying to import it. I am frustrated, stymied, panicked - you name it. I am on the hook for OLH for a client and I am at a complete loss. I can't get anywhere with RH. Where do I start, what do I do? Thanks!
