I seem to remember some way of turning the smart spaces option off by default in FrameMaker with the ini file. But I can't seem to find out how to do it. Is it possible? Or am I just dreaming? Rob

Ignore me... I forgot the setting is saved in the document, it's not an ini file setting. Once changed and saved it is always true for that document. Rob -Original Message- I seem to remember some way of turning the smart spaces option off by default in FrameMaker with the ini file

You can. Using FrameMaker, open the file FrameMakerInstallationDirectory\fminit\custom. This is a FrameMaker file, even without the .fm extension. This file is used as the default template. Change the smart spaces setting and save the file. Ian Bill Briggs wrote: What would be nice
