My colleague was just bit by the sidehead bug which was the topic of much
discussion a week or so ago.
She recovered by importing all formats (with Manual Page Breaks and Other
Format/Layout Overrides checked as well) from the backup file, which was
undamaged but out of date. Everything popped back into place.
If your backup file is also damaged, I expect that you could accomplish the
same fix using a copy of the template used to create the document saved within
the same directory (although Importing Variables and possibly other formats
might have to be unchecked before the import).
The sidehead bug was triggered by an Undo she performed in a table.
Sidehead bug: The sudden introduction of sideheads into a document that did not
previously have sideheads. Paragraph tags are also affected.
