Hi Folks
A colleague is using the Frame drawing tools to draw a rectangle with
rounded corners. When this document is converted to PDF, the line
widths of the drawing in the PDF file are not consistent, and sometimes
they are curved when they should be straight. This problem appears on

Just found this problem described on the Microtype website
(http://www.microtype.com/Acrobat.html). Deselecting "Convert smooth
lines to curves" fixes this problem, but does anyone know if that causes
any other problems?
Thanks

In the Framers Digest, Vol 24, Issue 10 Dave Reynolds asked, "Deselecting

Nobody else answered so I'll report that I didn't notice any other problems

Hello Framers,
I am sorry for the repeat question, as I think it has been asked before. I
am looking for the FrameMaker 8 Online Manuals, particulary the Structured

Dear experts
After opening a number of FM7 files in FM8 and updating the book i get
this error for two of the files:
E:\FM-course\handout_70\generated_docs.fm
Show/Hide setting for FM8_SYSTEM_HIDEELEMENT is inconsistent.
E:\FM-course\handout_70\specials.fm
Show/Hide set
Same thing here.
I dl'd FM8 to try, opened a few of my 7.0p579 files in 8, then went back to
other tasks. I removed 8. Now I get the "Show/Hide inconsistent" when I run
updates and there are no inconsistencies...Kelly.

This is actually a known Frame issue -- annoying, but it doesn't get in the
way.
To fix it:
* Open the book
* Open a file that does not get the error message (which might be the first
file in the book)
* File>Import Formats
* Deselect All
* Import Conditional Text formats only

I inherited a publication done in Framemaker, which is something like a
glorified Powerpoint handout: a typical page has a Ppt slide at the top.
There's one Ppt file to one FM file, meaning that each graphic is linked
to not only the Ppt file but to a particular slide in that file. When I
