Paul, My HP 8710w notebook does NOT have a glossy screen! I believe that the glossy screen is only available with the low resolution model, i.e., 1680x1050 as opposed to 1920x1200. I have the high resolution model. You cannot directly connect a digital monitor to the 8710w. You must use a

FrameMaker 8 continues to support use of Type 1 fonts (I assume that is what you mean by PS fonts) as well as TrueType and OpenType fonts. The character set of the Type 1 fonts are mapped into Unicode. You don't say what type of font errors you are getting (missing fonts? mismapped characters?

I hardly consider them heroes. Vandalism is vandalism. They could have made their point very well by photographing all these signs, putting up a web page with the evidence and the required corrections, and then calling a press conference and making a media event out of it. If everybody simply

I've seen this problem before and it generally has nothing to do with either FrameMaker or Acrobat, but rather, secret sauce in the operating system and its interface with the PostScript driver with regards to the Symbol font. The symptoms you report usually would indicate that somehow the

The original problem reported by Paul stems from the Windows phantom phont phenomena! Windows font enumeration, used by standard Windows applications (such as FrameMaker), allows printer drivers to insert font information to be passed back to the application even if such fonts are not actually
