It isn't cheap, but U. C. Berkeley Extension has an excellent four- course certificate program in editing. I'm half-way through it. Instructor Linda Thompson is really good. Classes available on-site or on-line. (I do the latter.) Here's the link:

Krishna, I don't know about the San Jose area, but you might want to try looking at the classes as Poynter.org. Poynter is an institute for journalists that is based in Tampa. They have a number of webinars and online courses geared towards writers. Some of them are free - and many are
