I'd like to hide all FrameMaker toolbars except for the Text Formatting 
toolbar, which I'd like to customize.


I was able to get the Paragraph Style drop-down list by adding
DROPDOWN command=!RulerParaMenu/
to text_format.xml, but I'm having trouble adding the Character Style 
drop-down list.

Adding DROPDOWN command=!RulerCharMenu/ does seem to do anything.

Klaus Daube mentions !RulerCharMenuIn in his toolbar documentation for 
FM 7.2 and 8 (http://www.daube.ch/docu/files/fm8-etb-en.pdf), so it 
looks like it's possible.


Any ideas?

I added your text_format.xml to my FM10 fmtoolbar.xml and the character style 
drop-down did appear as expected.
Maybe you just need to delete the cfws file of your workspace?

The !RulerCharMenu is a custom menu that Klaus has created. You have to use a 
customui.cfg file in your Fminit/Config folder make these. Add this to the 
customui.cfg file:

ReservedMenu !RulerCharMenu Label Character Formats
Add CharacterDefaultPgfFont Menu !RulerCharMenu
Add !ShowCharacterTags  Menu !RulerCharMenu

I got it working here, but I had to detach the toolbar and resize it in
order to see both lists. When I redocked the toolbar, it looked fine. Please
