I use the Leximation BookVars plug-in for this purpose with excellent results! I endorse this completely. Check out www.leximation.com for more info. Thanks Syed. However, I'm still on Mac, and a great many useful plug-ins are denied us - including all the Leximation ones, although fortunately not the Silicon Prairie ones. I do however think that FrameMaker itself should support bookvars.
