If your mention of "many cross-references" means that you want the cross-references to be hyper-links in the PDF, you should note that this does *NOT* depend on using the Save As PDF operation. Any method of creating PDF produces hyper-links as long as you select the Generate Acrobat Data option in FrameMaker's Print dialog when you create the PostScript file that gets distilled to the final PDF. Have you tried any other method of generating PDF? Do they work the same way as Save As PDF in relation to opeing on chapter 1? >From: "Mary Holder" >To: >Subject: PDF opening on "wrong" page >Date: Tue, 29 May 2007 08:59:52 -0500 > >Hello, > >I have inherited a FM document that when saved as PDF insists on opening at >chapter 1 instead of the cover page. > >Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing that opens the document >properly? > >This document has many cross-references, so I really want to use the Save >As >feature in FrameMaker (7.02). > >Thanks, >Mary Holder > >___ > > >You are currently subscribed to Framers as DocuDoc at hotmail.com. > >Send list messages to framers at lists.frameusers.com. > >To unsubscribe send a blank email to >framers-unsubscribe at lists.frameusers.com >or visit >http://lists.frameusers.com/mailman/options/framers/docudoc%40hotmail.com > >Send administrative questions to listadmin at frameusers.com. That helped tremendously. The box was set to 0 to begin with, but I set it to one and then back to 0 and it worked! Go figure. PDF opening on "wrong" page
Hello, I have inherited a FM document that when saved as PDF insists on opening at chapter 1 instead of the cover page. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing that opens the document properly? This document has many cross-references, so I really want to use the Save As feature in FrameMaker (7.02). Thanks, Mary Holder
