Correct, Wim! Try to explain in training what "file translation errors"
are. ;-)

I'd change the UI string into "Show FrameMaker Console (not to be confused
with the Console Pod)"

Well, there’s more than just file translation errors. On startup there are 
messages generated by plugins (frame script a.o.). May not seem important but 
can be useful.
More important for me is when publishing DITA to FMbooks, eiher by DITAfmx or 
DITAfm. I needed to debug this process but my consfile remained empty. It took 
me a while to find out that this setting caused all messages to disappear, not 
only the file translation errors but also messages generated by DITA-fmx. Hence 
I think this is a bug. If not, the setting should be named something like: omit 
console file.

Umm, what would you expect to find in the console file if there is nothing to 
be reported to the console? What you usually find there are messages about file 
translation errors, and if you turn that reporting off, it only stands to 
reason that there will be nothing to be reported most of the time.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or by design - or if it’s just my computer:
In Edit-Preferences, uncheck 'Show File Translation Errors'. Restart 
FrameMaker: there’s no console file anymore. The consfile.txt is empty.
Anyone else seeing this?
