Re: Filling up blank space in a Framemaker page
Thanks for your help Ed. Yes, I am aware of this setting that tells Frame where to start the paragraph style. I set only the most significant style (Heading 1 or similar) to start on a new page, while subordinate styles (Heading 2 etc.) can start anywhere. My query was about automatically filling free space at the end of a page. As correctly suggested by Steve, the setting for this behavior is 'Feather' text under Format -> Page Layout -> Line Layout. *Regards,Apurva* On Fri, Aug 15, 2014 at 12:06 AM, Ed Nodland wrote: > There is a paragraph pagination setting, start "top of page". Re: Filling up blank space in a Framemaker page
Bingo Steve - this is exactly the feature I was looking for. I am yet to play with the various settings but it works! Thanks for your help. Here is the help page on the 'Line Layout' options (Format - Page Layout - Line Layout). http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FrameMaker/10.0/Using/WS75716A2C-F227-4643-9012-119E110AE42F.html Regards Apurva On Fri, Aug 15, 2014 at 12:00 AM, Steve Rickaby < srick...@wordmongers.demon.co.uk> wrote: > At 23:36 +0530 14/8/14, Apurva Bahadur wrote: > > >Is there a way to stretch text to fill up vacant space on a Framemaker > page. > > > >I am writing a manual in which few pages end with some lines and then a > lot of blank space as the next section starts on the following page. > >I believe Indesign has a feature that allows subtle automatic adjustment > of line spacing to fill up a page, is there a similar feature in Framemaker? > > I think what you are after is feathering. Re: Filling up blank space in a Framemaker page
There is a paragraph pagination setting, start "top of page". Apply it to the element that you want to have start on the top of the next page.
