Slightly OT: A happy announcement

2007-07-13 Thread Diane Gaskill
Hi FrameFolks,

As some of you might remember, a few weeks ago, I posted some messages to
the list regarding my company's research into changing from Word to either
ArborText or Structured FM. I received several excellent responses to my
questions and created a 4-page spreadsheet comparing the two products.
Using this information, and after several weeks of discussions with our
parent company in Japan, we decided to use Sructured FrameMaker.

Anyway, I wanted to write and say thank you to all those who took the time
to write and provide information. You were most helpful and I really do
appreciate your efforts.

Best regards,

(Looks like I'll be staying on this list for another 14 years. :-)

Congratulations! Now, if you're really living right, Adobe will release
FM 8 in time for you all to jump right into that. :-)

Hi Richard,

Believe it or not, we have talked about exactly what you suggested, but we
don't know how long that will be until the next version of FM is released, and
se need to get started. So we're getting 7.2 and will upgrade whenever the
next version of FM comes out. I'm Beta testing it, incidentally, and I
kinardley wait for it to be available for the rest of my team. Adobe did a
good job with it. (But I'm on an NDA and I can't even say if it's called FM8 or
not.)

Kinardley? Oh, that's just a name I got from my car. It's a Rolls-Kinardley.
Rolls down the one hill, kinardley get up the next.

Happy Friday. :-)

Diane
