Thanks Fred for your response. I do rebuilds on my system when performance degrades (my cobwebs). I actually use Ghost which I update 1/year for a total system rebuild. Then I have a shell script that runs all of the updates, but in this case, I had not put the Framemaker 8 patch 266 in. Duh! RE: System rebuild - can not print book
Thanks William, I looked through the master pages, they were all clean as well. So I printed each of the individual 23 files in the book to PDF, without one hiccup. So I have a feeling the guilty file is book file. So I'm thinking of assembling all of the 23 files, and importing them into a new book. Does that sound sensible? Thanks again Pete -Original Message- From: William Abernathy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2008 6:25 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: System rebuild - can not print book Additional suggestions: Check all the text frames on the master pages for PostScript toggling as well. Try searching for Rect to see if that can help find the offending object (body and master pages). Try printing to postscript (Print to File...[schmoo.ps]) and then distilling in a separate step. This might help narrow down where the problem is coming in. Finally, I would recommend checking the source document's PDF Setup settings. I have seen some bizarre cruft sneak in there under the radar while making changes to new machines or new doc templates. I am running short of ideas here...I thought my last suggestion would get it.
