Table header rows don't repeat

2006-04-10 Thread Ridder, Fred
The heading row that is created will be empty, so there are two
more steps:
4. Copy the existing pseudo-heading row and paste it into the
new true heading row.
5. Confirm that the heading repeats on the continuation pages,
then delete the now-redundant original pseudo-heading row.

If you will be importing tables from Word frequently, I highly
recommend investing in Rick Quatro's TableCleaner plug-in,
which provides a collection of tools that are extremely useful
in making imported tables behave.  (No commercial connection;
just a satisfied user.)

My opinions only; I don't speak for Intel.

1. Select the table.
2. Select Tables > Add Rows or Columns.
3. Select Add 1 Row To Header.

The Header should now repeat across pages.

We are trying to move a very very long (hundreds of pages) 5-column
table from Word into Frame. We have tried many ways to do this with a
minimum of cleanup involved afterward.

The major problem is that Frame does not repeat the header row of the
table on each page. The header row does repeat in Word. What's the best

way to convert/copy/import the table to take care of this?

Thanks...

Denny

FW: Table header rows don't repeat

2006-04-10 Thread Owen, Clint
Denny,

If you can import a reasonably clean table you are almost there.

1) Delete the header row in the word table before you import it,
except for the first instance.
2) Use Table/Insert Rows or Columns/Insert Rows to insert a blank
header rows as necessary.
3) Cut or Copy the first row in the table, that contains the header
info, to the clipboard.
4) Paste the copied header-info row in place of the blank header
row.
5) Apply your preferred formatting to the table.

We do this for tables that are hundreds of pages long.
