One of the most mysterious figures in the business. As the legend goes, he
had a pseudonym or two (?)
Hopefully his works get preserved and written about more. Truly on the
radical edge of avant-garde film.

Thank you for the advice/insights, Dave!
And also everyone else that has contacted me on and off list.

I've actually used the Wolverine film scanner quite a bit.. So felt bad for
panning it so bad a year ago.. It's not perfect, but cheap and probably

Hey all,
Wondering if there are any E6 color reversal enthusiasts here that have
used Wittner Chrome 200D and/or Agfa Aviphot 200D ??
Looked for tests on YouTube, and the Wittner looks better, although it's
hard to judge due to different types of footage and transfer qualities..

I bought a Wolverine.. It's easy to use and very handy, but the image
quality is quite poor. I went in with low expectations based on the reviews

I'm wondering is anyone has any good tips for prescription eyewear for

It's funny how something so simple is such a pain.. Dave Jones made a
really great device for syncing multiple DVDs, although they're a bit rare

Probably the best free program is Zach Poff's multiscreener, which I

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for avant-garde films that go
over well with kids (12 and up). I'm not very good with censorship and
always forget that there is something inappropriate with most of my
favorite movies... even just a good PG narrative is hard to find..

As a general rule of thumb, don't listen to anyone's opinion on Final Cut X
unless they've actually taken the time learn and understand it... Same
advice should be used for most things in life ;-)

Does anyone have the scoop on a good low-cost super 8-to-digital transfer?
I have just a few rolls.. not worth the crazy set-up fees most labs
charge...
Prefer to get them scanned, but standard def is ok..

I'm also interested in VJ clubs or wherever there may be innovative use of

Try to find an older, working VHS camcorder and tape it off your computer
screen. Maybe your local media center, public access television station,
school or thrift store has one in the backroom somewhere... although
they're getting much harder to find working these days.
