Frameworkers with an interest in the theory and practice of the critical found
footage audiovisual essay might like to know about this article I've just
published in the features section of NECSUS: European Journal of Media Studies
in which I take stock of my experience of? teaching audiovisual film criticism
over the past twenty years:
http://www.necsus-ejms.org/taking-stock-two-decades-of-teaching-the-history-theory-and-practice-of-audiovisual-film-criticism/

The article focusses on a course I developed in 2002, Audiovisual Criticism,
which sought to harne?ss the potential of the then emerging generation of
non-linear digital editing software for the purposes of film analysis and
criticism. This course has now been taken by approximately 600 students. The
article is illustrated by 140 minutes of sample student audiovisual essay work
organised into nine themed compilations.

I hope some of you might find this article useful.

Best wishes,

Michael Witt
