Agreed that shooting off an LCD monitor works shockingly well (just expect to lose a roll experimenting with exposure, or shoot multiple exposures in one roll). It won't look as good as optically done titles (mainly the contrast will not be nearly as nice) but it gets the job done in a pinch. On

In all seriousness, I've made basic titles in B, with fades in FCP & Premiere in HD/2K/4K. Then I've shot them off the monitor screen with either Super8 or 16mm film, playing them back full-screen. Excellent results...if you get the camera centered and level. -Jason Halprin Jason Halprin
