[Frameworks] CALL FOR ENTRIES: February Synthetic Zero Event
SUBMISSION DEADLINE JANUARY 12, 2015 The next Synthetic Zero Event will be February 4 and 7, 2015 at BronxArtSpace, only 20 minutes from Union Square. We're looking for visual art, performance, video, music, readings, dance and other work for the show. The Synthetic Zero events are a series of informal art events focusing on high quality experimental and contemporary work in different media. We typically do not have a specific theme for each event but instead work with ideas that emerge from the interaction between submitted work and curatorial interests. By working this way, we hope the events reflect back the dialogue and practice of artists involved and create evocative encounters for the audience. In the past, a diverse set of curators has chosen work by artists from around the world, including Claudia Maté, Yoshi Sodeoka, Zoe Leonard, Hector Canonge, and many others. Mitsu Hadeishi has been putting on art events in the New York City area since 2003, including work from artists both local to the city and from around the world. These events have featured experimental video, performance, visual art, dance, music, poetry, interactive work, and installations. He's collaborated with and has provided technology help for a number of artists including Harrell Fletcher, Miranda July, Alyse Emdur, Kenneth Mroczek, and Khaela Maricich. [Frameworks] CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Edinburgh International Film Festival
Dear Frameworkers, CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: BLACK BOX@EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, 17-28 June 2015 It's that time of year again! EIFF is inviting submissions for short and medium-length films for the BLACK BOX experimental section. We support equally film and digital formats and encourage submissions on 16mm and 35mm. This year we are particularly interested in films that deal with the theme of either performance or the environment, although the selection is by no means limited to these areas. Black Box showcases work by both emerging and established filmmakers. The 2014 edition included Monica Saviron, Kevin Jerome Everson, Guillaume Callieau, Mara Mattuschka, Peter Snowdon, Jeanne Liotta, Laida Lertxundi, Deborah Stratman, Eve Heller, Dietmar Brehm, Kurdwin Ayub, Thorsten Fleisch, Dana Duff, Alexei Dmitriev, Jim Finn, Zachary Epcar, Brendan and Jeremy Smyth, Esther Urlus, Richard Tuhoy, Malena Szlam, Janis Crystal Lipzin, Billy Roisz, Mike Stolz, Paul Clipson, Martha Jurksaitis, and others ...
