[Frameworks] Request

2013-09-30 Thread Heike Klippel

Dear all,
we (Nanna Heidenreich, Florian Krautkraemer, and I) are preparing a
bilingual (English/German) publication of writings and photos of Birgit
Hein.
The book will also contain a part from her famous Film im Underground,
but we are having problems in tracing two publication she quotes in that
text.

Does anyone out there have the following two publications?
- Catalogue of Film EXPRMTL 1958, the 2nd international experimental
film festival in Brussels

- Documentation folder of the London Underground Festival 1970
We would be so grateful if anybody could help us!

Best,
Heike Klippel

2013-10-01 Thread Heike Klippel

Hello Deke,
this is great, indeed! Thank you so much.
Nobody of us can go to London, we are already happy to be able to
finance a translation at all. But I will ask Birgit to contact her
chums. Hopefully they will look it up for her, and give us the English
text of the quotation
Strange, that she did not have the idea herself when she found out that
she does not have a copy of this catalogue any more.

Until now, just Fred Truniger from Switzerland had an idea where to find
the Knokke catalogue, we did not get any other responses. But the
Cinematheque Royale in Brussels is helping us. The first thing they
found out is that our quote is not in the catalogue ..

Thanks again,
best,
Heike

A worthy project. Good luck with it.

Since no one on the list has (publicly) volunteered a copy, you may have to turn to
the British Artists' Film Video Study Collection in London. If you're not
familiar with the collection (founded by Birgit's chums Malcolm Le Grice and David
Curtis), here is the URL:
http://www.studycollection.co.uk/catalogue.html
Searching the collection is a little fastidious; in this instance you will have to go first to the
Organisations Events catalogue, then look for the International Underground
Film Festival NFT 1970.
Unfortunately, that will not produce the document itself; in order to to
consult it you will have to go to London (or get a proxy to do so).
Or try contacting someone at the centre itself, perhaps David Curtis himself or
Steven Ball or other helpful soul.

Good luck,

Hello everyone,

I´ve been following your discussions and conversations for some time and I´m
amazed! Thanks for all the great input!

Now I´ve got a question:
Do you have any good suggestions for crime films/documentaries, also videos,
short and experimental film, where either the detective or the
thief/gangster/con artist is a woman. Especially interesting would be groups of
women.

Thank you!
