Dear FrameWorks subscribers,

In advance of revealing the full lineup for the ninth edition of JAPAN CUTS:
Festival of New Japanese Film (July 9-19, 2015), the programming team is happy
to announce that JAPAN CUTS 2015 will have a strong experimental/avant-garde
cinema component, including a partnership with the wonderful folks at Mono No
Aware (http://mononoawarefilm.com<http://mononoawarefilm.com/>) who will hold a
16mm direct filmmaking workshop at Japan Society on June 21. Participants will
create their own piece of 16mm cinema which will then be projected as part of
the Experimental Spotlight program during JAPAN CUTS
(http://www.japansociety.org/japancuts). Select workshop film print material is
donated by Prof. Joanne Bernardi’s Re-Envisioning Japan: Japan as Destination
in Visual and Material Culture, University of Rochester
(http://humanities.lib.rochester.edu/rej).

Please see the following link for details and registration information (a very
limited number of spots available):
