Fried Chicken Spare-Ribs

8 chicken thighs with the bones in it
1 cup of Water
2/3 cup of brown sugar
2/3 cup of soy sauce
1/2 cup of apple juice or apple cider
1/4 cup of ketchup
2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
2 minced garlic cloves
2 tablespoons of canola oil
1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 tablespoon of cold water
2 tablespoon of corn starch

Start by browning the chicken over medium heat in the oil. Make sure you brown
them on both sides then drain the oil out on a paper towel. Then return the
chicken to the pan. Next get a bowl and mix in the water, brown sugar, apple
juice, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, pepper flakes and the ground
ginger. Use this mix and sprinkle it all over the chicken. Bring it to a boil
then reduce the heat and cover to simmer for about 20 minutes until the chicken
juice is clear. After the cooking is done, remove the chicken to a plate and
keep it warm. Mix the cornstarch and water to the cooking juice until it’s
smooth then bring it to a boil and cook for about 2 minutes. It should be
thick, similar to a gravy.
