approximately 3 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup water

3/4 tsp salt

1 package active dry yeast

1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

3/4 cup hot tap water

1 egg, at room temperature

Filling:

2 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Caramel Topping:

4 Tbsp butter or margarine

4 Tbsp brown sugar

6 Tbsp finely chopped nuts, if desired

      1. In a large mixing bowl, measure 1 cup flour, sugar, salt and
yeast. Add softened butter or margarine and water; mix well. Stir
in another 1 cup flour and the egg; beat well. Add additional flour,
approximately 1 cup to make minutes, or by hand for eight minutes.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap, heat in microwave set on "low" for 2
minutes, let rest for 10 minutes.

2. Melt 2 Tbsp butter or margarine in microwave for about one
minute. Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, but do not
mix it with the melted butter or margarine.

3. Place 2 Tbsp butter or margarine, brown sugar, and chopped nuts
(if desired) in each of two 9-inch glass pie pans and heat in
microwave until melted.

4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle

the sugar-cinnamon mixture. Roll up from the long side; pinch edged
together to seal.

5. Cut the roll of dough into 16 1-inch slices by slipping a length
of clean thread under the roll and crossing it over on top. Place 8
rolls, cut surface down, in each of the caramel-coated pie pans.

6. Place one pan at a time in the microwave and heat on " low" for 2
minutes; let restfor 30 minutes, covering the pan with plastic wrap.
Or, piece in refrigerator for up to 24 hours; then proof for 30 to 60
minutes before baking.

7. Cook one pan at a time in microwave set on "medium" for 10 to 12
minutes, or until no longer doughy. (Remember, they will never look
brown.) Immediately invert onto a serving plate.
