Several months ago I sent in a LIRC plugin for freeamp, I never heard back.
Do I need to send it again? Is there a better LIRC plugin somewhere? Am I
wasting my time?

Attached is a patch that implements rudimentary LIRC support. I didn't do
any of the autoconf stuff to enable/disable the feature, since I'm still
learning that stuff.
