Re: Any documentation on UI..

2000-03-10 Thread Julius Xavier

Hi Harald,
thanks for your email. I decied to do a direct lcdui after it was suggested
at the freeamp mailing list. I don't mind using the lcdproc as long as It
give me enough functionality. I may do some more modification/addition to
the lcdprc. However, when I tried the lcd.ui through lcdproc I don't see
(bar, scroller etc..). Which version of the lcdproc server Do i need. Can I
compile the freeamp lcdui.cpp without any modifications and see all the
features it has?.

I would appreciate reply..

thanks
Julius

Please dont!!
Use lcdproc via localhost, _start only your client_, and its the same
for you
(freeamp always on "top"),
but keeps compatibility with other lcdproc users.

lcdproc supports keypad input from mtxorb, infrared from lirc and irman,
and joystick.

You have scrollers, bars, all implemented in lcdproc.

PLEASE USE LCDPROC, for you its the same, all other lcdproc fans will
thank you.

First thing is to check out the ncurses ui -- it uses curses to display the
meta data of the current song -- you should be able to grab some code from
that. Playlist support is not hard either -- each UI gets an FAContext
object which contains a pointer m_plm to the playlist manager. Check out the
playlist.h in base/include for details on which operations you can perform
on the playlists. Elrod, which messages should he watch out for?

Any documentation on UI..

2000-02-07 Thread Julius Xavier

Hi folks,
I am thinking of modifying or redoing the LCD. I want to support at least
the following features and I think those are not available at present:

1) Input support for the LCD ui (either key pad or knop, remote etc.)
2) Play-list support (list, update, etc.)
3) Diplay the meta data (artist, album etc.)

Would the freeamp team give me a sort of starting point / documenation to do
that. I have little bit of time but not that experienced in programming. I
am learning quickly and I want to do this as a learning processo as well. I
am planning to use the MatrixOrb LCD.

thanks
