I saw that there are a lot of soon-to-be and new Moms on this site.
Most looking for clothing. Since everyone lives in a different state
it's probably too costly to ship items.

I have a suggestion if you are strapped for cash, which my husband
and I are also, we have a 7 month old, almost 3 year old and then my
husband has 3 children from a prior marriage not living with us, but
paying child support for.

Do a search in Yahoo Groups for Freecycle and find the town, county
or city closest to you and join. There are plenty of people giving
away baby items, clothing, toys, any anything else you can think of.
You can post a wanted ad or monitor it and respond when you see
something you need. I will warn you that it is a bit competetive, but
I have ended up with baby clothing, maternity clothes, shoes, toys,
bottles, baby food etc... for my two little ones over the last 3
years.

Also, check craigslist.org for the closest city to you. People on
there sell their used baby stuff for very inexpensive prices. I have
been able to find baby clothing, toys, etc... at very decent prices.

Lastly, find local consignment, thrift shops in your area in the
yellow pages or by doing an online Google search. They will save you
money on used baby items also. A lot of times I bring my high end
stuff to my local consignment shop and they will give me credit to
buy stuff there. It's almost like a trade.

I hope this information is helpful!! Good luck with everything.
Having a baby is a lot of work, but very rewarding. Also, know what
you think you may need is not really a necessity. You need very
little to really take care of a baby. The rest of the stuff is just
fluff that the commercials and media try and convince you that you
need it.
