IMHO, you are partly right. In regard of FreeBSD at all, right now, those numbers are misleading (it's not possible to use it for any research) and unimpressive (it's not possible to use it for PR). Yet, for the guys from PC-BSD team it is already useful. Their users quantity reflected by bsdstats
