APCI vs APM

my laptop suspend ? # zzz zzz: can't open /dev/apm: Permission denied # su Password: # zzz zzz: ioctl(APMIO_SUSPEND): Invalid argument I don't really know the difference(s) between APCI and APM but can ACPI suspend a computer as well ? How should I proceed to make my laptop sleep ? :)
