I gave it a final try and mounted an empty disk into my laptop. Using the MKS2D.EXE found on the Dell support site I created a hibernation partition on the beginning of the disk (It needs to be within 8 GB of the start of the disk). And guess what... I can now suspend to disk using acpiconf -s
