updating stable-5.1 fails buildkernel

2003-06-10 Thread Kent Hauser
Updating from RELENG_4 to RELENG_5_1 fails on buildkernel because C-language specification iso9899:1999 is not understood by stable. Edited transcript attached. Cheers, Kent ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list

scsi controller causes sysinstall to freeze machine

2001-07-29 Thread Kent Hauser
Hi all, I have started running down why my machine won't boot off of a current CD when my new SCSI controller is installed. When my scsi controller is installed (with or without the SCSI-bus connected to the controller), `sysinstall' hangs at the deviceTry call at line 403 of `devices.c'. A

Hi, I did a make release on a CURRENT (Jul 15) system and find I can't boot from the CD if my adaptec 29160 SCSI controller my Sony SDT-11000 4mm DAT are installed. The kernel probe successfully finds the devices, but the booting hangs with probing for system devices (this may take a while)

ipsec pkts dropped: unknown/unsupported protocol

2001-07-11 Thread Kent Hauser
Hi all, When I brought my -current box forward from a May build, my VPN stopped working. From tcpdump netstat -s I see the pkts come go correctly, but are dropped because: netstat -s: ip: xx packets for unknown/unsupported protocol. I have net.inet.ip.check_interface=0 which was sufficient

IPSEC checkinterface

2001-04-22 Thread Kent Hauser
Hi, I just rebuilt my several month old -current system found that IPSEC processing appears broken. I restored my IPSEC functionality by setting `ip_checkinterface = 0' in "netinet/ip_input.c". However, something tells me that this is not the long-term fix. Thanks. Kent To Unsubscribe:

In trying to build "make release" today, I discovered that the "vn" driver is required now to build the boot floppies. You make it sound like a new thing - the release process has required the vn device for years. Jordan, Thanks for your time. I guess I need to rephrase my comment I've done

In trying to build "make release" today, I discovered that the "vn" driver is required now to build the boot floppies. I would suggest that this driver be added to "GENERIC". For what it's worth, I added the driver to my kernel, rebooted, and completed the make release. Thanks all. Kent To
