Hello, This is the first time since adopting 5.0 that I've tried to do anything with my cd drive and I'm finding it impossible to work with. First, I installed ripit so that I could convert a couple CD's to mp3's. This fails with:
dagrab: read raw ioctl failed at lba 0 length 12: Input/output error dagrab failed on Kittie - Pain at /usr/local/bin/ripit.pl line 369. Then, out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could even mount a regular data CD. I could. I could even unmount it. However, the CD drive would not spit out the disc until I rebooted the system. Some sort of lock on removing the CD from the drive stayed in place even after unmounting the drive. I know this drive works just fine as I just used it under Windows on the same box a couple days ago. I'm not sure what other info would be relevant, nor do I really know how to further diagnose this issue but I would be happy to supply any further information. I was unable to turn up anything by searching on Google or in the archives.
