I've been running FreeBSD (under FreeBSD) on VMWare lately to try to test some kernel modules I'm writing. However, the clock seems to run at nearly twice normal time. Ntpdate will set the clock back tot he right value, but ntpd doesn't appear to be able to reign in the runaway clock. Is there a way that I can set some sysctl variable such that the clock is close enough to real time for ntpd to handle the remaining fine tuning. I'm running NFS between the two FreeBSD's and this clock skew is playing havok with things.
