The changes done to /usr/bin/cut recently seems to have broken it.
I have fetched and built CURRENT from scratch this morning.
cut compiles and runs, but it does not cut :)

Please give me an example of how you are invoking cut and why the output
you get is incorrect or different from -STABLE.
